The group of Xiaolan Zhao is recruiting enthusiastic postdoctoral fellows who are interested in studying the mechanisms of genome maintenance and its implication in diseases. The lab integrates multidisciplinary approaches (molecular, genetic, biochemical, structural, genomic) to discover and delineate regulatory mechanisms that ensure faithful genome duplication, coordinated recombinational repair, and SUMO- and checkpoint-mediated response to genotoxins and chemotherapeutic agents. Prior experience in genome maintenance is welcome and applicants with a record of mechanistic studies are encouraged to apply.
We are located at Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, within the vibrant tri-institutional community comprising the Rockefeller University and Cornell Medical School. The tri-institute and other NYC universities have a strong and collaborative genome maintenance research community that coordinates interdisciplinary research and holds regular genome integrity meetings. Postdoc fellows at SKI also receive strong support and development opportunities for independent academia and non-academia positions (https://www.mskcc.org/education-training/postdoctoral).
Interested candidates can contact Xiaolan Zhao at firstname.lastname@example.org.
