I am interested in the crosstalk between cancer cells and cells that make up their microenvironment. In my doctoral work I showed that the immunomodulatory roles of an orphan nuclear receptor in myeloid cells affect acquired immune responses, the tumor microenvironment and progression of breast cancer. I remain fascinated with cancer-stroma dynamics, and I aim to determine novel mechanisms of microenvironment crosstalk in the metastatic context using up-and-coming techniques. Cancer-stroma dynamics aside, I enjoy classical and jazz music, visual arts, cooking and the food scene.
