The Geissmann lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has two/three immediate openings for full time Research positions

The individuals will work as part of a team that will identify somatic mutations associated with clonal proliferation of microglia in brains of patients with neurodegenerative diseases. The members of the team will be responsible for handling and manual processing of human brain and blood samples (isolation of nuclei, DNA extraction, preparation of histological slides), data entry and maintenance of a study database.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, enthusiastic and capable of handling a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills required. This project is part of the creation of a new biotech company, and salaries will be competitive.

Candidates at several levels will be considered (Masters, Bachelor’s Degree and PhDs in a Biological, Chemistry, or Science related field) preferably with 1 year of relevant laboratory experience. Bioinformatic and molecular biology skills will be appreciated.
