Caren Chapinski joined the Sawyers Lab in 2009 as a research technician. She earned her B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University and M.S. degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Prior to MSKCC, as a graduate student, she has invested her time working in a lab focusing on a thesis-driven project assessing the role of OspC lipoprotein of Lyme spirochetes using an OspC mutant of non-infectious Borrelia burgdorferi isolate as a surrogate system. Caren is currently working on a number of projects exploring the molecular pathways responsible for prostate cancer initiation and progression.
