The Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a non-profit and private graduate school, is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (formerly the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.).

Cancer Biology and Cancer Engineering are approved by New York State Education Department as official programs offered by GSK. These programs are both registered as biological science degrees under HEGIS code: 0499.00 (biological sciences, other) and are listed on the Department’s Inventory of Registered Programs

The school can award four graduate degrees:

  • Master of Science (MS) in Cancer Biology: Program code 29204
  • Master of Science (MS) in Cancer Engineering: Program code 42788*
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cancer Biology: Program code 29205
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cancer Engineering: Program code 42789*

*The Cancer Engineering degrees are not registered under engineering and will not lead to a professional license.
