Bachelors in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Pathobiology- Drexel University, Philadelphia, 2017-2021

Alyssa Massa received her bachelors degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Pathobiology at Drexel University . During her undergrad, she developed a strong interest in cancer biology and cell signaling pathways, which was further increased after her first research position at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied the relationship of PECAM1 and VEGF in the metastasis and development of tumors. Her experience at Penn inspired her to pursue a career in research following her undergrad. Her most recent project was for her senior capstone project on the role of proteins Rab27a and Hrs on exosome biogenesis and their roles in cancer metastasis.

Alyssa hopes to obtain her masters in the next couple of years in order to prepare her to pursue a PhD.  She also has a special interest in scientific illustration that she continues to practice.
